Growing garlic in a plastic bottle can be done by the following methods:

  1. Get your already bought garlic from your store or previously harvested fresh garlic.
  2. Get a clean 2 liter container or bottle and cut off the top of the container. Then cut some holes into your bottles where the plant leaves can grow out from easily. You can make the holes with your scissors or knife.
  3. The next thing is to fill up the plastic bottle with water to the brim and place a single bulb of garlic on top of the bottle with the water still inside. You can also cut of the end of the top part of the garlic and place the root part of the garlic into the water.
  4. Make sure the garlic is standing upright and does not fall into the bottle of water.
  5. Place the container in a quiet spot where it is safe.
  6. The next thing is to give it time to grow by just watching it. It will begin to sprout roots soonest. Within a week, you will begin to see the roots growing.

Note that when they begin to sprout, they can then be transplanted into larger pots filled with soil.

  4. Get a pot or large container that can contain your potting plant and fill the pot with potting soil.
  5. Open up a space in the middle of the soil where you can place the bottle that contains the garlic in.
  6. Get another larger plastic bottle and cut off the bottom of the bottle. Then place this plastic bottle over the garlic filled plastic bottle in the soil and set the cover firmly in place.
  7. The next thing is to water the surroundings of the soil around the plastic bottle.
  8. Within the next 3 days you will notice roots forming already and leaves sprouting.
  9. After 10 days your garlic plant is ready to be transplanted into the soil filled pots.
